Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, praised the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, to organize the Global School Games in Bahrain. He confirmed that this step enhances the Kingdom’s status as a sporting destination for various international tournaments and events.
Sheikh Abdulaziz emphasized the importance of this tournament, which serves as the junior equivalent of the Olympic Games in nurturing emerging talents in tennis and other sports. It provides these young players with the opportunity to face major challenges and simulate the competitive atmosphere of the global Olympic Games. He pointed out that Bahrain hosting this event reflects its commitment to developing youth sports and encouraging and motivating rising sports talents.
The President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation also affirmed that this major tournament requires special preparations and arrangements. He stated that the Federation will work with all its capacities and resources to prepare the courts, provide referees, and make all necessary preparations for the success of the tennis competition in this global event. He emphasized that Bahrain will offer ideal conditions for both participants and the audience in terms of organization and hospitality.
As part of the technical preparations for this global event, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa announced the organization of a summer training camp for the tennis players participating in the tournament. He added that the Federation will work on preparing the players in the best possible way and provide appropriate training programs to achieve commendable performance and results for Bahrain in this global competition.
He also mentioned that the Federation will conduct special qualifiers for players in the coming period to select 4 male and 4 female players based on the competition’s specific system, to participate in the training camp and represent Bahrain in this event.
