Under the patronage of MP Iman Shwaiter, the Women’s Tennis Committee announces the organization of the first Ramadan Women’s Tennis Championship.

Under the patronage of MP Iman Shwaiter, the Women’s Tennis Committee of the Bahrain Tennis Federation has announced the organization of the first Ramadan Women’s Doubles Championship. The event will take place on Fridays and Saturdays each week in March 2025, at the Bahrain Tennis Federation courts in Isa Town, located at the Bahrain Polytechnic University.

Regarding the tournament details, Mrs. Jamila Al-Nashaba, a board member and the head of the Women’s Committee, stated that the competition will be held in the evening, starting at 9:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays at the end of each week. The first competition will begin on March 7, 2025, to allow as many women as possible to participate. She also mentioned that there will be cash prizes for the winners of the first place, as well as for the second-place team.

Mrs. Al-Nashaba expressed her sincere thanks to MP Iman Shwaiter for her support and encouragement for women to practice sports, especially tennis, through her continuous cooperation and communication with the Women’s Committee, as well as her genuine desire to encourage women to engage in physical activities and healthy lifestyles, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Women interested in registering for the tournament can access the registration form link in the Instagram bio (@btf_tennis), fill in the required details, and the last day to submit participation requests will be March 4, 2025.

Mrs. Al-Nashaba invited all tennis enthusiasts among the women of Bahrain to participate in the tournament and enjoy the competitive atmosphere, catering to different levels, from beginners to experienced players.

The Women’s Committee expressed its gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Tennis Federation, and the members of the Board of Directors for providing all the necessary resources for the Committee’s programs.

Mrs. Al-Nashaba emphasized that this tournament will be managed by a female team, including referees and volunteers to collect the balls, as part of an effort to train a new generation capable of organizing and managing such tournaments. Additionally, there will be audience draws for those attending to support and cheer on the players.
